Learn to Love Your Garden During Lockdown

Spring has finally sprung! The sun is shining, the grass is green and the flowers are blooming. However, due to the coronavirus lockdown, which the government has signalled will not be lifted until at least into May, we may feel that we are not able to enjoy the warming weather to its full extent.

While it is true that large garden parties, BBQs and beach picnics are off the table for the time being, this does not mean that we cannot enjoy the great outdoors. We just need to be a bit more creative!

Garden gazebos

If you have a garden space, then you may want to consider garden gazebos. Available in a variety of sizes and prices, garden gazebos can help you learn to love your garden during the lockdown.

Green party tent

Garden gazebos can enable you to create a tranquil retreat by providing you with some privacy from the neighbours, where you can read a book, do outdoor yoga, or even take a nap!

Alternatively, if you have younger children who are spending too much time indoors, garden gazebos can encourage them to play outside, with the gazebo becoming a pirate cave, a fairy castle or anything else that an imaginative mind can come up with.

Gazebo positioning

This very much depends upon your intended use and the direction in which your garden faces. South-facing gardens benefit from strong sunlight during the day but this can make sitting outside uncomfortably hot.

A carefully-positioned gazebo will provide welcome shade and the ideal location for a set of table and chairs. Many homeowners choose to locate their gazebo on an existing patio, benefiting from the hard, stable surface.

However, there are no specific constraints. Since a gazebo is a temporary structure, it does not require planning permission and can be located anywhere in your garden. There are now a range of decking modules and cost-effective gravel and stone packages which allow you to create a stable but inexpensive base.

Alternatively, our gazebos will work perfectly well when located on a lawn, particularly for playtime! Since they are lightweight and easy to pop up and pop down, they can be stored safely in a shed or garage in a matter of moments.

Extended use

When evening falls and the effect of the sun diminishes, a gazebo will provide a cosy space for some alfresco outdoor dining. Some owners choose to add lighting or some form of radiant heating to extend the hours in which the gazebo is usable.
